21 responses to common lawyers fee complaints


The fees and pricing debate continues to roll along at pace...

Very few lawyers will not have encountered a situation in which they were, at least initially, stumped for a quality response when thrown a bit of a curve ball by a client when discussing fees for a planned engagement.

Richard Burcher at Validatum does a lot of great work on pricing for legal services, and he has produced  an excellent e-book with a good range of scenarios, and right and wrong lawyers' responses to fee objections…

Given that few of us ever become 100% confident in this area, and because good pricing has such a huge impact on profitability, I thought you and your team may benefit from seeing this if you did not already have it.

Even if you do already have it, have you made it available to all lawyers and others on your team who may benefit from a little bit of education, even if simply by way of reminder, in this area?
