Future Forums Small-Medium law firms...update

Tuesday afternoon 24 January 2012 was the first of the six Future Forums on the Eastern Seaboard, and it was a great success in Sydney...small but diverse group of firms from NSW and NZ, and very interesting discussions of the new challenges being presented and ways to deal with them...of course there was also good discussion on the best approaches to existing challenges too...
Establishing performance goals, assessing performance, the importance of effective mentoring, and the changing face of both legal fees pricing and marketing were just a few topics of special interest among the many that occupied the attendees during the afternoon...

Feedback during and since the session was excellent...with most attendees joining me for a drink and further discussion afterwards!

Since the session it's clear that some firms recognise the need to improve web presence (don't we all!!) and web-based marketing...

There's also been interesting discussion on whether tablets like I-Pads are tools or toys...with the consensus being that there are already very useful tools and going to become even more important. firms have some great ideas for specific apps to be developed for internal use and marketing tools...resources for clients...

I will post more as the two Forums in Melbourne and Brisbane 31st and then 1 Feb are conducted.
