Future Forums Small-Medium law firms...update


Tuesday afternoon 24 January 2012 was the first of the six Future Forums on the Eastern Seaboard, and it was a great success in Sydney...small but diverse group of firms from NSW and NZ, and very interesting discussions of the new challenges being presented and ways to deal with them...of course there was also good discussion on the best approaches to existing challenges too...
Establishing performance goals, assessing performance, the importance of effective mentoring, and the changing face of both legal fees pricing and marketing were just a few topics of special interest among the many that occupied the attendees during the afternoon...

Firms generally still do too little to educate and inform current clients and contacts by using a variety of tools to provide material that is truly relevant and helpful to their lives and businesses...

Whether this is a result of too much focus on trying to get new clients, or whether it is just a case of not knowing how to go about it correctly, depends on the circumstances of each firm...
